Baby & Child Dedication

BABY & CHILD DEDICATION

3 STATEMENTS PARENTS ARE MAKING THROUGH BABY DEDICATION

#1: I am promising to raise my child with the principles of God’s Word (Deut. 6:1-10)
God has always entrusted His truths to parents to teach their children. In dedication we are saying, “Lord, I will raise up my child to understand your ways.”

#2: I am desiring that my child come to know Christ as his/her Savior at the earliest possible age. (Mark 10:13-16)
As parents, we cannot make decisions for our children, but we can have a wonderful impact on their lives. As we give them opportunity to hear about Christ and to see Christ in our lives, we will have opportunity to share Christ with them.
#3: I am praying that God will use my child for His glory. (1 Samuel 1:26-28)
The story of Hannah and Samuel is a beautiful truth. As God gave her the gift of a child, she gave her child to the Lord’s service. While every child will not go into full time ministry, dedication is saying, “Lord, please use my child for your glory.”
